This Anchorage-based artist completed his MFA in Fine Arts and University of Iowa after studying biology at Dartmouth College. He has taught and worked as Director of the arts departments at the University of Alaska – Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University respectively. His works can be seen in many public collections around the United States and at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art.
His work portrays Alaska landscapes as well as images of the indigenous floral of the state in various seasons. He is known for large scale canvases in striking colors, strong use of light and brush strokes.
